Michael is running for Trumbull County Commissioner, hoping to put his lifelong commitment to public service to work for you.

A proud Lakeview graduate and YSU alumnus, Michael served our country as a member of the Ohio National Guard during the Persian Gulf War. He met his daughter, Sadie, for the first time on the tarmac at Vienna Airbase when she was just four months old.

After returning to civilian life, Michael continued serving his community as a law enforcement officer, dedicating his career to the Bazetta Township Police Department. He retired as Chief of Police and went on to establish Hovis Construction. Since then, the company has secured over $10 million in competitively awarded government contracts.

Feeling called to return to public service, Michael is now in his second term as a Bazetta Township Trustee, where he has led the township toward fiscal responsibility, secured key investments, and updated long-neglected infrastructure.

Michael is ready to put his proven experience to work stabilizing Trumbull County.

A proud Papa, Michael resides with his wife, Stephanie, in the same family home where he was raised. They have two children, Sadie and Ryan, and three grandsons—Ren, Rowan, and Hudson.
